On Saturday, April 30, 2022, the Lebanon Police Department took part in the Nationwide Drug Take Back Event. This event is a collaborative effort between the Drug Enforcement Administration, state, and local law enforcement agencies in an effort to remove potentially dangerous controlled substances from homes across the country.
The Police Department collected 277 pounds of expired, unused, and unwanted prescriptions and other medications. As there has been a rise in overdoses in the last couple of years, this event’s success has become more imperative in the proper disposal of controlled substances, needles, and syringes. We thank those who participated in this event!
Did you miss the event? The Lebanon Police Department has a Pharmaceutical Drop Box and Sharps Disposal Container installed in their lobby at 36 Poverty Lane, Lebanon. They are available 24 hours a day for you to turn in old, unused, or discarded pharmaceutical prescriptions and used and unwanted needles.
