The City of Lebanon announced on Apr. 7 that entries are now open for the 15th Annual Top Dog Contest. Dog owners with licensed pets in the city are invited to participate in the competition for the Top Dog title.

The contest aims to recognize and celebrate local dogs while encouraging responsible pet ownership through licensing and vaccination compliance.

To be eligible, participating dogs must be licensed for the 2026 dog licensing year by April 30 and have a current rabies vaccination on file with the city’s office. While submitting a photo is not required, entrants are encouraged to share photos of their dogs, which will be displayed on an in-office “Wall of Fame.” Photos can be sent through the online contact portal to the City Clerk and Tax Collector Department.

Residents who have not yet registered their dogs can renew licenses at City Hall, mail payments, or use an online portal. First-time registrations must be completed in person or by mail, accompanied by updated rabies information if it is not already on file. The city notes that additional fees apply to online renewals due to third-party processing; these fees are not retained by the city itself. Once payment is processed, licenses will be mailed out.

Questions about registration or contest entry can be directed via email through a secure contact portal or by calling the City Clerk’s Office at 603-448-3054.
