The City Manager’s Office announced on May 12 that a community discussion titled “The State Budget: What You Need to Know” will be held by the New Hampshire Fiscal Policy Institute on Wednesday, May 13 at 6:00 p.m. at the Upper Valley Senior Center, located at 10 Campbell Street in Lebanon.
The event aims to inform residents about how the New Hampshire state budget affects property taxes, public services, and affordability for communities across the state. Organizers say all members of the public are welcome to attend.
Topics scheduled for discussion include an overview of what the state budget is and what it funds, how decisions made at the state level influence local property taxes, and the role played by education, health care, and other major services. The conversation will also address what these factors mean for overall affordability in New Hampshire.
According to information from organizers, this event is designed to encourage greater public understanding and dialogue regarding how fiscal policy decisions impact local communities.
The meeting will take place tomorrow evening as part of ongoing efforts by community organizations to engage residents in important discussions about budgeting and its effects.
