Dartmouth baseball lost to Boston College, 13-3, in a seven-inning nonconference matchup on April 8. The game took place in Boston, Massachusetts.
The loss brings Dartmouth’s season record to 6-16. The team started strong by scoring first, with Nico Bañez drawing a leadoff walk and Milo Suarez hitting a double to drive him home. However, Boston College quickly responded with a two-run home run to take the lead.
Boston College extended its advantage in the second inning after an error allowed another run. Dartmouth tied the game at three runs apiece in the third inning when Tyler Sirchia and Chris Miller scored on a triple by Stefan Di Corrado. But Boston College regained control shortly after, scoring three more runs and then adding six more in the fourth inning through hits, walks, and errors.
Despite putting runners on base later in the game—including having runners on the corners with two outs in the fifth—Dartmouth was unable to score again. At bat, Suarez finished 1-for-2 with a walk and one RBI while Di Corrado went 1-for-2 with two RBIs and two walks.
On the mound for Dartmouth were Nate Matoush, Trey Sejnoha, Mac Burke, Andrew Lombana, Aidan Plummer (who pitched a scoreless outing), and Austin Moran. Each contributed innings but could not prevent Boston College from building their lead.
Looking ahead, Dartmouth will host Brown for a three-game Ivy League series starting Saturday morning at Red Rolfe Field at Biondi Park. All games will be available for streaming on ESPN+ or via live stats at DartmouthSports.com.
