Dartmouth football finished its first week of spring camp on April 12, with three practices held despite weather changes. The team moved the opening practice indoors to the Graham Indoor Practice Facility on Wednesday, while Thursday and Saturday sessions took place at Buddy Teevens Stadium at Memorial Field.
The start of spring camp is important for evaluating players and integrating new coaching staff members. Head Coach Sammy McCorkle said, “The first week of spring ball is something we always look forward to and you can tell how excited the players and staff were to be out on the field with helmets on! We had a good first three practices.”
McCorkle noted that several new coaches have joined ahead of the 2026 season, bringing fresh schemes to the team. “As new schemes continue to be installed, our attention to detail across the board needs to continue to improve while being fundamentally sound,” McCorkle said.
The coach also addressed roster changes, acknowledging that Dartmouth lost several contributors from last season but highlighted positive performances by younger players during camp. “With a few new faces on the staff, and a number of young guys receiving more playing time, I liked our sense of urgency and pleased with how the young guys were starting to step up and play with confidence. I have been pleased with how we have competed on every snap, in every drill with each practice,” he said.
Looking ahead, Dartmouth will enter its second week of camp as preparations continue for their spring game scheduled for May 9. McCorkle concluded, “Overall, I liked what I saw, and we know what we need to focus on moving forward.”
