Dartmouth football closed its spring camp on May 10 with the annual spring game, which was held inside the Graham Indoor Practice Facility due to weather. Robert L. Blackman Head Football Coach Sammy McCorkle said he appreciated the families and supporters who attended the scrimmage.

“We appreciated all the families and supporters that attended our scrimmage yesterday. I thought our team ended the spring on a high note. Both sides of the ball played with max effort and a sense of urgency,” McCorkle said.

The team used this year’s spring camp to adjust to several new members on its coaching staff, and those changes were visible during Saturday’s game. “The offense had a few explosive plays, the defense flew around to the ball, and the offensive and defensive lines battled up front the entire scrimmage,” McCorkle said.

Looking ahead, Dartmouth will begin preparations for its 2026 season opener against Lehigh in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania on Sept. 19. The home opener will take place against Monmouth on Sept. 26—the first meeting between these programs in Dartmouth’s history.

Team captains were also announced at Saturday’s event: senior quarterback Grayson Saunier, senior defensive lineman Joshua Johnson, and senior Harrison Keith will lead as captains next season. Saunier has started in 12 games over two seasons with notable passing and rushing statistics; Johnson has made significant contributions on defense; Keith has tallied four interceptions along with numerous tackles across his career so far.

“With spring practice now finished, it’s time for our players to ramp it up in the weight room, focusing on development, taking this team to the next level, and preparing for fall camp,” McCorkle said.
