Dartmouth men’s lacrosse lost to No. 18 Yale on April 4 during Autism Awareness Day at Scully-Fahey Field, with the Bulldogs securing an 18-7 victory over the Big Green.

The game began with Dartmouth’s Emmett Paradine scoring his seventh goal of the season just over a minute into play, assisted by William Stahl. However, Yale responded by scoring four consecutive goals and ended the first quarter ahead, 4-1.

In the second quarter, Paradine added another goal before Dartmouth narrowed Yale’s lead with goals from Stahl and Nick Moore. Despite this effort, Yale finished the half leading 8-4 after scoring three straight goals.

Stahl and Thomas Vandenberg scored early in the third quarter as Dartmouth attempted a comeback. Nevertheless, Yale answered with four more goals before Vandenberg scored again late in the period. In the fourth quarter, Dartmouth was held scoreless while Yale added six more goals to finish out their win.

Max Becker started as goalkeeper for Dartmouth and made 13 saves; Kevin Bryan played in the final minutes and recorded one save on two shots faced. Stahl led Dartmouth offensively with three points from two goals and an assist; Alex Jessey contributed two assists while both Vandenberg and Paradine each had two points.

Defensively, Jesse Phelan tallied three caused turnovers along with two groundballs as part of a team total of twelve caused turnovers spread among nine players. Spencer Reagan won twelve faceoffs and collected six groundballs—the most for his team—while Thomas Goguen picked up four groundballs as part of Dartmouth’s total of twenty-nine for the day.

Looking ahead, Dartmouth will travel south next weekend to Providence to play Brown University on Saturday, April 11 at noon.
