Dartmouth College announced on Mar. 10 a full schedule of athletic events for the week, with several teams competing in key matchups and championships.
The upcoming contests are significant as they feature national tournaments, conference showdowns, and opportunities for Dartmouth athletes to qualify for further postseason play. The performances this week could impact team standings and individual achievements across various sports.
In men’s swimming and diving, sophomore McCoy Lyman advanced to the NCAA Championship after qualifying at the NCAA Diving Zones with a combined score of 713.30. The event continues through Wednesday, with more results available on DartmouthSports.com. On the women’s side, three divers began competition at the same event, which also runs through Wednesday.
Men’s lacrosse will travel to Fairfield, Connecticut on Tuesday to face Fairfield University in their second-to-last non-conference game of the season. The Big Green recently lost to Utah 17-10 but are led by Stu Gates, who has accumulated 20 points so far this season. Goalkeeper Max Becker has made 61 saves in his first five collegiate games.
Women’s lacrosse will close out a three-game homestand against UMass on Tuesday afternoon after suffering their first loss of the year to No. 25 Penn. The team is currently leading the Ivy League in scoring and scoring margin, with standout performances from first-year Madeline Egan and Charlotte Myers.
The National Skiing Championship begins Wednesday in Utah, where Dartmouth will be represented by athletes in both alpine and Nordic events following their recent Eastern Intercollegiate Ski Association Championship win. Last year, Dartmouth finished third at nationals when hosting the event.
Men’s hockey enters the ECAC Hockey Quarterfinals as the tournament’s two seed after earning an opening round bye. They host Colgate for a best-of-three series at Thompson Arena starting Friday night. Hayden Stavroff leads all players nationally with 27 goals this season.
