Dartmouth women’s golf finished in second place at the Prospect Bay Invitational, according to a March 30 announcement. Sophie Thai tied for first individually, while teammates Hope Hall and Sophia Li both tied for fourth place.
The tournament, held on Kent Island, Maryland, was shortened from its planned 54 holes to 36 holes due to weather conditions. The event counted the top four scores from each round toward team results.
Thai began the competition with a score of 74 in the first round, which included three birdies. She followed up with a score of 75 in the second round that featured an eagle and a birdie. Hall recovered from an opening-round score of 80 by shooting a one-over-par 73 in the second round and carded four birdies during that round. Li matched Hall’s total score for the tournament; after an opening-round score of 81, she shot an even-par 72—the best single-round performance for Dartmouth in the event.
Other contributors included Alissa Xu, who finished within the top twenty after rounds of 79 and 77 with multiple birdies each day. Olivia Cong posted scores of 79 and then improved to a 78 in her two rounds. Claire Wan completed play for Dartmouth by finishing +14 over two rounds.
Dartmouth will conclude its regular season at the Rutgers Invitational on April 11-12 before heading into Ivy League Championships scheduled for April 24-26.
