College Sports Communicators announced on May 12 that four members of the Dartmouth women’s tennis team have been named to the Academic All-District list. The honorees are juniors Peyton Capuano and Michela Moore, along with sophomores Sam Grosjean and Elise Wong.
The recognition is given to student-athletes who are at least sophomores, maintain a minimum grade point average of 3.50, and participate in at least 75% of their team’s spring matches. This distinction highlights both academic achievement and athletic contribution for each recipient.
Capuano, a government major, completed her junior season with a notable record in both singles and doubles play. She achieved a 12-4 singles record—mainly at the first position—and went 15-3 in doubles matches. Capuano started her spring campaign with five consecutive singles wins and matched that streak in doubles competition. She also marked career milestones by earning her 50th career doubles win and reaching her 100th overall victory.
Moore, majoring in economics, posted an 11-6 singles record while primarily playing second position. Alongside Capuano at first doubles, she also finished with a strong 15-3 mark. Moore began the season with four straight singles victories against teams such as Army and Boston College, secured wins over Michigan State and teams from California, and notched two Ivy League victories.
Grosjean participated in all but one match during the spring season for Dartmouth. She finished with an 11-4 singles record—including nine straight early-season wins—and compiled a 14-4 doubles mark while going undefeated at the ECAC Indoor Championship event.
Wong played in most of Dartmouth’s matches this spring as well, recording a nine-win season mainly from third singles alongside Josephine Lombardi. Wong also contributed to second-doubles victories against Stony Brook, Colgate, Cal State Fullerton, Princeton, and Cornell.
This marks the second consecutive year that Capuano and Moore have received CSC Academic All-District honors; Grosjean and Wong were recognized for the first time.
