Jen Williams announced her resignation as head coach of the Dartmouth softball program on May 12. Williams has led the team since 2018.
The change marks a transition for the program, which has seen notable achievements during Williams’s tenure. Her leadership included an Ivy League Tournament appearance in 2024 and recognition for both academic and athletic accomplishments among players.
“I’m very grateful for the opportunity I’ve had to lead the Dartmouth Softball program,” Williams said. “The team is an amazing group of women, and the staff and support staff, as well as the larger Dartmouth Athletics community, are some of the best people I’ve had the privilege of working with. It’s time for a change, and though it’s been a difficult decision, I know it’s the right one for me and Dartmouth Softball. I’d like to thank (athletics director) Mike Harrity and (softball sport administrator) Taurian Houston for their guidance these past four years, as well as the athletes and alumni who define this program. I wish them the best and look forward to their future successes!”
Williams compiled a record of 99 wins and 145 losses over eight seasons at Dartmouth, including a balanced record in Ivy League play with 62 wins and 62 losses. She coached more than thirty student-athletes who received All-Ivy honors academically or athletically. Notably, Micah Schroder was named Ivy League Player of the Year in 2019 at first base, Billie McFadyen earned that title in 2022 at second base, while Jensin Hall was recognized as Ivy League Pitcher of the Year in 2024.
Mike Harrity, Haldeman Family Director of Athletics and Recreation at Dartmouth College said: “We are deeply grateful to Jen for her investment and dedication to our softball program. We understand and respect her decision and wish her our very best.”
A national search will begin immediately to find Williams’s successor.
