The City of Lebanon announced on Apr. 13 that the Household Hazardous Waste Collection Days for 2026 will be held at DHMC Lot 27, located at 52 Labombard Road, on Saturday, May 2 and Saturday, September 26 from 9:00 a.m. to noon.

These events allow residents to safely dispose of hazardous materials. Organizers said the collection site is not on the main DHMC campus and advised attendees to follow bright green signs for directions on event days.

Residents from Canaan, Claremont, Cornish, Croydon, Enfield, Grantham, Goshen, Hanover, Lebanon, Lempster, Lyme, New London, Newbury, Newport, Orange, Orford, Piermont, Plainfield, Springfield, Sunapee, Unity, Washington and Wilmot can bring up to five gallons or twenty-five pounds of hazardous waste free of charge. Residents from other towns may participate for a $35 fee. Those bringing more than twenty-five pounds or representing a business must pre-register with the Upper Valley Lake Sunapee Regional Planning Commission by calling 603-448-1680 at least two weeks before the event.

Attendees are asked to place all waste in their vehicle’s trunk or bed and remain inside their vehicles during drop-off. Unwanted or unused medications will not be accepted at these events; instead they can be disposed of using the Pharmaceutical Drop Box and Sharps Disposal Container available around-the-clock in the lobby of the Lebanon Police Department at 36 Poverty Lane.

For additional information about what items are accepted or how to prepare materials for drop-off days in Lebanon this year and next year as well as related disposal resources such as medication drop boxes and local guides for solid waste management residents may contact the Upper Valley Lake Sunapee Regional Planning Commission.
