The City of Lebanon released its March City Manager’s Update on Apr. 14, summarizing recent activities across city departments as they transition from winter operations to spring preparations.
The update highlights the importance of steady core services such as public safety, public works maintenance, utility operations, and community programs that residents depend on daily.
Major projects advanced during March, including ongoing work at the airport for the Runway 36 Extension. The Engineering and Public Works departments reported active coordination for transportation infrastructure improvements like early efforts on the South Main Street Bridge Project and progress toward constructing the Mechanic/High/Mascoma Street Roundabout. The report also included data supporting long-term planning, with updates on building permit activity, state review work related to property revaluation, and year-to-date financial tracking.
In Human Services, there was sustained demand for winter shelter capacity through mid-April when the shelter closed. Overflow needs were frequent during this period. A Pop-Up Health Clinic at Kilton Library served dozens of people in March and is scheduled to continue into April. Meanwhile, strong attendance was reported by the Library’s programs; Police continued community outreach; and Recreation, Arts, and Parks staff worked to prepare parks, trails, and facilities for increased use in spring and summer.
