Members of the Lebanon Police Department participated in the annual Winni Dip at Lake Winnipesaukee to support Special Olympics New Hampshire, according to a March 9 announcement. The event required participants to jump into the lake once every hour for 24 hours.

The effort aims to raise awareness and funds for athletic programs benefiting individuals with intellectual disabilities. Through their participation, Officer Matthew Kaufman, Officer Jonathan Bruynell, Corporal Dean Bullock, and Lieutenant Garrett Hubert completed a total of 24 jumps each over the course of one day.

The department raised $12,960 through donations from community supporters. These funds will go toward year-round athletic training, competitions, and programs provided by Special Olympics New Hampshire.

Chief Phillip J. Roberts authorized the statement and expressed gratitude for those who contributed to the fundraising efforts. “The Lebanon Police Department is proud to support this meaningful cause and thanks everyone who contributed to the team’s fundraising efforts,” Roberts said.

The department’s involvement highlights ongoing community engagement initiatives and support for inclusive sports opportunities.
