The Lebanon Police Department participated in the Lebanon Youth Baseball Association’s Opening Day Ceremony on May 2, bringing together families, players, and community members to mark the start of a new season.

The event featured Officer Peter Begin and Officer Felicia Figol leading players during the Opening Day parade. Officer Begin also threw out the ceremonial first pitch to officially open the season.

According to the department, this annual tradition is an opportunity for officers to support local youth and foster positive relationships with residents. “Events like this highlight the strong partnership between the Lebanon Police Department and the community. The Department is grateful for the opportunity to support local youth, promote teamwork and sportsmanship, and continue building positive connections with the families we serve,” Chief Phillip J. Roberts said.

The participation of law enforcement at community events such as these aims to encourage teamwork among young athletes while strengthening ties between police officers and city residents.

Looking ahead, officials say they hope these efforts will continue to build trust within Lebanon by supporting activities that bring people together.
