The Lebanon Department of Public Works announced on Apr. 13 that it is reviewing the Traffic Control Plan for the South Main Street (Route 12A) Dry Bridge Project in West Lebanon, following recent concerns about congestion in the area.
The department said both city officials and contractors are considering adjustments to address comments from the public regarding traffic delays within the project corridor. The contractor has instructed flagging crews to change their operations to help improve vehicle flow, especially when work takes place near the intersection of Main Street and Seminary Hill.
Despite these efforts, officials warned that drivers should still expect delays and congestion due to ongoing construction activities and the project’s proximity to a busy intersection. “Please note that while flaggers will continue to manage traffic as effectively as possible, delays and congestion should still be expected due to the nature of the work and its close proximity to the intersection,” according to a statement from city officials.
Motorists are reminded to use caution when traveling through this active work zone. The department thanked residents for their patience and understanding during this period.
