Man Arrested for Criminal Threatening

On June 29, 2022, at approximately 8:33 AM, the Lebanon Police Department responded to a report of a male subject pulling a knife on another person in the area between Hanover Street and Mascoma Street. 

Responding Officers located the reported male and he was identified as Edwin Brooks, age 73, from Lebanon, NH.

Investigating Officers spoke with Brooks and the victim, along with witnesses of the incident. The investigation revealed that the victim was riding a bike on a sidewalk when Brooks pushed them off their bike. An altercation then ensued between the victim and Brooks, during which time Brooks displayed a knife to the victim.  

Brooks was placed under arrest and was charged with Simple Assault, a class A Misdemeanor and Criminal Threatening with a Deadly Weapon, a class B Felony.  Brooks was released on Personal Recognizance bail with a Grafton County Superior Court date of July 28, 2022.
