The Dartmouth women’s track and field team began the Ivy League Heptagonal Indoor Championships at The Armory in New York City on Saturday, with several athletes advancing to event finals and notable performances in both track and field events.

Mariella Schweitzer achieved a significant milestone for the Big Green by placing third in the long jump with a distance of 6.29 meters (20-7.75). This mark set a new program record for Dartmouth and is ranked No. 39 among NCAA Division I performances this season. Schweitzer’s result contributed six points to the team’s total.

On the track, Jada Jones secured an automatic qualifying spot for the finals in the 60 meters after running 7.50 seconds in the preliminaries. She also competed in the 200 meters, finishing with a time of 24.48 seconds.

Veronika Simova posted a personal best of 56.35 seconds in the 400 meters to qualify for that final, while Andie Murray advanced automatically to the final round of the 1000 meters after recording a time of 2:08.26 during preliminary competition.

Esme Daplyn earned an automatic place in the mile final by running her heat in 2:50.97, and Annamaria Bacchetta set a personal best with her time of 4:58.38 in that event.

For Dartmouth’s men’s team, Noe Kemper led efforts on the oval by earning an automatic berth into the final round of the men’s 800-meter run after clocking a preliminary time of 1:51.19—placing third overall among competitors—and Callahan Fielder qualified automatically for his mile final with a time of 4:11.70.

Liam Murray advanced to his own event’s final by running a qualifying time of 47.78 seconds over one lap (400 meters), while Connor Foley moved forward to compete again after posting a preliminary mark of 2:25.26 in the 1000 meters.

Winston Morgan set his own personal record with his finish at 48.36 seconds in the 400-meter dash following participation earlier that day over two laps (200m) where he ran 21.81 seconds; Jack Rousseau followed suit by establishing his best ever mark at 48.76 seconds over one lap as well.

In field events, Colton McMaster placed fourth overall—and scored four points—for Dartmouth thanks to his season-best throw measuring 20.08m (65-10½) during weight throw competition; Jack Tan added another point through sixth-place clearance at pole vault’s bar set to height measured as 4.85m (15-11), just ahead teammate Samuel Starrs who vaulted successfully up through height measured as 4.70m (15-5).
