Town of Hanover: Hanover Parking Transitions to Pay-By-Plate Pay Stations

6020111

Town of Hanover issued the following announcement on August 30.

On September 1st, 2021 the Town of Hanover will transition from single space meters to new pay-by-plate pay stations throughout the downtown area.  These changes will allow parkers to enter their license plate number at the pay stations when paying for parking, which will eliminate the need for them to return to their vehicle to display a printed kiosk receipt on their dashboard.  Customers can also create an account at at https://www.myparkingreceipts.com/, a service powered by IPS, the manufacturers of the towns parking meters. Having an account is optional, but will allow individuals to store vehicle license plates, associate them with a credit card and get reminders when parking time is about to expire.

This major change is due to the discontinuation of 3G service by the mobile carriers, which made the existing single space meters unable to communicate with the network.  There will be a few remaining single space meters in areas with limited parking or where it was difficult to place a kiosk.  Hanover Parking will be installing new signage and removing the old single space meters throughout the week.

Parkers can also continue to use the ParkMobile app to pay for parking wherever there is a kiosk or single space meter in the downtown area, and this service will be used exclusively for some small sections of parking as designated by signage.

If you have any questions please contact the Hanover Parking office at 603-640-3220.
