City of Lebanon issued the following announcement on October 6.
On Saturday, October 23rd, from 12:00pm to 2:00pm at the Kilton Library, the West Lebanon Revitalization Advisory Committee will host a Neighborhood Block Party to share news and ideas with the community about progress toward revitalizing West Lebanon Village. The Committee invites residents to attend the Block Party to celebrate “Old West Leb”, learn more about opportunities that are taking shape, and join in the community’s efforts to revitalize downtown West Lebanon.
Since forming in December 2020, the West Lebanon Revitalization Advisory Committee has been working to envision and advocate for future improvements in downtown West Lebanon in order to rebuild and restore the vibrant village “where residents and visitors work, meet, shop, and share in a good quality of life and a firm sense of community and belonging.”
(City of Lebanon Master Plan, 2012)
The Committee envisions a West Lebanon reconnected to its riverfront and linked to the region by scenic trails, with an attractive and welcoming downtown, supported by an economically vibrant business community, that invites residents to stop in rather than just pass through. To achieve these goals, the Committee has built upon previous planning efforts and studies, identifying actionable improvements and critical roadblocks, and building a coalition of stakeholders and organizations to move ideas forward.
