The Lebanon Arts & Culture Commission was inspired by the idea of stamping poetry into the sidewalk, a project that had been done in Saint Paul, Minnesota. The commission had the opportunity to meet with and consult with Saint Paul and in May 2022, the first installation of poems that fell within the public domain was stamped in Lebanon. During this process, a poetry contest was running for folks to submit their poem to be considered for installation in 2023.
With over 100 submissions, there were four poems selected for 2023.
Congratulations to the following winners:
- Andrew Gent of Nashua, NH
- Hannah Follensbee of Lebanon, NH
- Morris Levy of Canaan, NH
- Cassie Williams of White River Junction, VT
