Leadership Upper Valley is a Vital Communities program aiming to foster and empower community leadership. The program brings together a diverse group of leaders and emerging leaders, convening once a month for 10 months. During these gatherings, participants engage in collaborative learning with both their peers and regional experts, and meet in "different relevant locations throughout the Upper Valley to give a better sense of our region and may involve a tour, hands-on interaction, speakers, discussions, or other activities." These sessions also cultivate an expanded network comprising community leaders and partners. Participants graduate from the program with not only knowledge of Upper Valley issues, opportunities, people, lifestyles, and trends, but also an expanded network of community leaders and partners, and motivation and experience to provide service in the Upper Valley.
Assistant Human Services Director Rebecca Desilets graduated from the most recent group of 27 participants in the Leadership Upper Valley Program. Rebecca stated, "It's been an incredibly fulfilling experience. I would recommend it to anyone who, like me, loves this place we call home.” Congratulations to Assistant Human Services Director Desilets on her commitment to "understanding more about the Upper Valley and helping to make it a better place to live, work, and play."
