In observance of Memorial Day, please be aware that City Hall, Lebanon Libraries, and all other City administrative offices will be CLOSED on Monday, May 30, 2022. The Lebanon Solid Waste Facility will be closed on Saturday, May 28, and Monday, May 30, 2022.
City Hall, Lebanon Libraries, other City administrative offices, and the Lebanon Solid Waste Facility will reopen on Tuesday, May 31 with their regular hours.
Watch the Parade
You may want to attend the American Legion Post #22 Memorial Day Parade. The parade will start at 11:00am (in the vicinity of “old” Sacred Heart School) and proceed down Route 120 (Hanover Street), pausing at the Hanover Street Bridge for a wreath ceremony, continuing around Colburn Park, heading down Church Street, and entering the School Street Cemetery for a wreath ceremony. The parade will continue out of the cemetery onto School Street and proceed to Colburn Park for Memorial Day Service. For more information, please visit the American Lebanon Post #22 website.
Blue Star Banner Presentation
Lebanon Fire Department personnel will present a Blue Star Banner, representing Fire Department personnel who served in WWII, to City officials during the Memorial Day Service in Colburn Park after the parade. The Blue Star service banner originated in 1917 during World War I when a U.S. Army Captain designed and patented it to honor his sons who were serving on the front lines of the war. It will be placed on display in the Soldiers Memorial Building after the service.
Lebanon Honors its Veterans
Memorial Day is a time to honor the men and women who have died while serving in our armed forces. The City of Lebanon is dedicated to the sincere, heartfelt appreciation of all Lebanon veterans and their families for their service and sacrifice to enable their fellow residents and citizens to continue to enjoy life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness.
