At the City Council meeting on January 4, 2023, Planning & Development Department staff presented draft zoning amendments for review and discussion. The amendments were originally presented to City Council on October 5, 2022, and were subsequently reviewed by the City's legal counsel and by the City's land use board including the Planning Board on November 21st and December 19th, the Zoning Board of Adjustment on November 22nd, the Conservation Commission on December 8th. Staff also hosted public information sessions to explain the proposed amendments, hear feedback, and answer questions. The first session was held on November 15th at the Lebanon Library and the second was held on December 20th at City Hall. At the January 4th Council meeting, staff reviewed proposed changes to the amendments based on the public review process. Staff also asked the Council to schedule public hearings on the proposed amendments for the January 18th Council meeting. Two public hearings will be held: One for the amendments to be adopted by the Council and another for the amendments that require placement on the March ballot for voter approval.

The public is encouraged to view the January 4th Council meeting and the January 18th public hearings either in person or online via LebanonNH.gov/Live.

Following the January 18th public hearing, staff will schedule additional public information sessions to review, discuss, and answer questions relating to the amendments that will appear on the March ballot. Dates, times, and locations will be announced and posted on the Planning and Development Department webpage.
