3rd Zoning Amendments Informational Meeting | City of Lebanon
3rd Zoning Amendments Informational Meeting | City of Lebanon
On Wednesday, March 8, 2023, at 6:00pm, the Planning & Development Department will host an informational meeting at the Kilton Library (80 Main Street, West Lebanon) to discuss and answer questions regarding the proposed amendments to the Zoning Ordinance that will appear on the March 14th ballot.
The amendments, which were originally presented to the City Council at their meeting on October 5, 2022, partly stem from the City Council’s April 21, 2022 directive to the City Manager to take steps to enable, incentivize, and partner in the development of housing needs not currently being addressed by the market.
Following a public hearing on January 18, 2023, the City Council approved the placement of the following 4 proposed zoning amendments on the March 14, 2023 ballot for approval by the voters:
- Allow Cottage Developments on certain sized properties in the R-1, R-2, R-3, R-O, and R-O-1 Districts;
- Amend the regulations for manufactured housing;
- Amend the RL-3 District Table of Uses to change “accessory use to any one-family dwelling” from a use allowed by Special Exception to a permitted use; and
- Allow an accessory dwelling unit (ADU) for an owner-occupied two-family dwelling.
